(For a balanced program there should be at least 2
actions from each objective each year, but feel free to add other actions you feel fit
each objective. These are just to get your creative juices flowing.)
Objective
10: Lead them to examine academic discipline from a Christian perspective.
1. Baptist faculty groups plan
meetings focusing attention on their Christian responsibility.
2. Point out appropriate articles
from various sources at weekly and/or general meetings.
3. Invite speakers from the
various college departments to relate the Christian faith in their discipline.
4. Encourage them to be good
students.
5. Help students to understand
that academic disciplines are helping them in their search for truth of which God is the
source.
6. Provide materials for them to
help them as they explore the academic disciplines so that they might see them from a
Christian perspective.
7. Discourage laziness in the
matter of their academic life.
8. Discourage majoring in the
Baptist collegiate organization to the detriment of their studies. No one should fail out
because of involvement in your organization. On the contrary people should see that they
are better performing students because of their involvement with you.
9. Help them to have a well
balanced life in providing for both their spiritual and mental development.
