(For a balanced program there should be at least 2 actions from each objective each year, but feel free to add other actions you feel fit each objective. These are just to get your creative juices flowing.) Objective 2: To involve students and faculty members in
responsible church membership and in denominational understanding and appreciation. 1.
Plan and promote preschool planning conferences. 2.
Sponsor join-the-church month or day- strong emphasis at
beginning of school. 3.
Help churches start Sunday schools, etc. 4.
Support Foreign Mission emphasis in local churches. 5.
Support Youth Week in the local churches. 6.
Send list of students to college town churches. 7.
Send denomination monthly report on Baptist collegiate
organization. 8.
Have student luncheons with state Baptist collegiate leader. 9.
Help students get involved in local church programs. Attending
worship services, Sunday school, and Wednesday night activities. 10.
Have programs in the Baptist collegiate organization on nature
and mission of the church. 11.
Develop close relationships with local pastors; inviting them
to Baptist collegiate organization meetings so they might meet and talk with students.
Make these contacts especially with pastors where students will likely attend. 12. Make
students aware of the denominational emphasis on missions, weeks of prayer and other
calendar events 13. Seek
to persuade students to find a place of service in the church. |
