(For a balanced program there should be at least 2
actions from each objective each year, but feel free to add other actions you feel fit
each objective. These are just to get your creative juices flowing.)
Objective 7: Involve them in
Christian social life and recreation.
1.
Include recreational opportunities in preschool conference.
2.
Assist with planning and conducting of: Opening of school
parties in the churches Fellowship hours in the
churches (Baptist collegiate organization leads them).
3. Plan, conduct, and evaluate: General campus welcome social - Campus-wide social
such as a Thanksgiving breakfast, Christmas party, favorite professor's breakfast or a picnic.
4.
Help as many students as possible to enjoy Christian community
together.
5.
Work with special and sports chairman in planning special
activities for students at end of year.
6.
School wide cookout for all freshmen, talent show, fall
follies, etc .
7.
Recreation at Baptist Center - ping-pong, games, video games, etc. (if you don't have
a Baptist center see if you can reserve the family life center at a nearby church. Some
colleges will allow you to reserve their on campus recreation facilities. - A good idea
even if you have a center - more exposure by including any who drop in.
8.
Intramural sports - basketball, soft ball, football,
volleyball, etc (This can be both a good enlistment tool and a good chance to
demonstrate that for the Christian ethics and honesty are more important than winning.)
9.
Have one major social each term in some cases, in other cases
more often.
10.
Have fellowship types of activities, super week-end, week full
of activities, ice cream parties, hay rides, demonstrations for Christ, cookouts,
scavenger hunts, get to know you party, old fashioned Christmas, Easter egg hunt, banquet
such as Valentine, Halloween horror house, gym party, swim-in.
11.
Use catchy titles for all social activities.
12.
Tie devotional thought to the event. (A good example for Halloween)
